When bad credit happens to good people

Maybe you lost your job for a time, maybe the mortgage crisis struck too close (literally) to home, or maybe you just fell behind on a few payments due to an emergency or medical crisis.  If these things happened to you then undoubtedly your credit score may have taken a hit.

I would like to speak directly to you about your options.  You are more than your current credit score to the Irwin Automotive group.  You are a person with a history of credit over a longer period of time then your score will indicate. Factors that may not show up in your score but may be used to help you get the credit you need to purchase your next vehicle include: previous automobile loan performance, equity down, and credit history prior to the incident that is linked to your score dropping.

The best part of my job is often helping someone like you drive off in a new or pre-owned vehicle.  Because we offer lenders a large number of loans on a month to month basis we have a tremendous amount of sway in how our customers are viewed by them.  I invite you to come on in and visit me at Irwin Toyota Ford Lincoln and Scion and see if I can help another worthy person get back on the road to great credit, while driving a new or pre-owned vehicle.

The Toyota RAV4 is a pretty great automobile. It combines the reliability of the Toyota nameplate with the dependable performance of an AWD drivetrain, and wraps them both in a reasonably compact, fuel-efficient body. In fact, it is exactly this winning combination of fuel economy, reliability, and convenience that makes the RAV4 one of the most popular SUV’s on the road. But when the RAV4 was first introduced in 1994, it caused quite a controversy among SUV enthusiasts. At that time, almost all SUV’s were built on pickup truck platforms. So when Toyota unveiled the RAV4, which was built on the Celica All-Trac platform, many people were skeptical. However, what Toyota recognized was only about 5% of all the truck-based SUV’s were acutally used as off-road vehicles. By using a car platform, Toyota introduced a crossover that provided AWD reliability but with better fuel economy and a smoother, more comfortable ride. The spikes in gasoline prices we have soon over the past decade have helped to cement the popularity of the RAV4, and to further underline the fact that for most people, an AWD crossover vehicle like the RAV4 is perfectly sufficient. The RAV4 just goes to show that once again, Toyota has used superior product design and management to change the automotive industry for the better.

As a finance manager, I cannot overemphasize how important it is for you to pay attention to your credit scores! As a consumer you are entitled to one free credit report for each of the three main credit bureau companies (Trans Union, Experian and Equifax) per year at no charge. The website to receive and view this data is https://www.annualcreditreport.com. By viewing your credit reports each year, you can pick up on errors in reporting and have them fixed before you make a purchase. Catching these errors sooner rather than later will save you headaches down the road. Achieving and maintaining an excellent credit score is important because people with higher scores are more likely to be approved for loans and have access to lower interest rates. When arranging an auto loan for you, a strong credit score will get a lower interest rate, allowing you to pay less to the lender for the same amount of money borrowed than someone with a lower score. Your good credit score is the key to your purchasing freedom and excellent interest rates.

Irwin Toyota recently hosted an evening event for our customers to learn more about the completely redesigned 2013 RAV4 and 2013 Avalon.  The redesigned Avalon adds a whole new level of refinement to Toyota’s flagship luxury sedan. A bold new grille and attractive lines are designed to add a youthful element to the Avalon and attract younger buyers.

Looking at the 2013 RAV4, the most obvious change is that the iconic swing gate with a rear-mounted spare tire has been replaced with a more conventional lift gate, and the spare tire located under the trunk. Another big change to the RAV4 is something you can’t see right away, but your wallet will be grateful for: it now only comes with a 4-cylinder engine, and achieves 31 MPG in the FWD model, and 29 MPG in the AWD model.

Why  Should You Rely on Irwin Automotive Group for Auto Repair and Maintenance?

Access to InformationIrwin Automotive Group has access to bulletins with the latest updates about fixing the vehicles, including service recalls and safety issues. If you are a dealership’s customer, you might also receive information via mail or email about your vehicle.

Training and Education – Dealerships invest substantial time and resources into continuing education and training. Technicians often travel to classes out of town and are frequently tested on the latest technology. Technicians are also trained to work on specific makes and models – depending on the franchises that their dealership offers. Today’s vehicles are so complex, it is impossible to be up to speed on every make and model that is available in the marketplace. No one knows a Toyota like a Toyota technician, a Ford like a factory trained Ford technician, and so on.

Equipment – Irwin Automotive Group has much more sophisticated diagnostic equipment. Dealers invest time in training and the right equipment – tools, hardware, software and computer equipment so the repairs are done correctly. The dealership has a distinct advantage when it comes to state of the art equipment and tools.

Parts – Irwin Automotive Group uses Original Equipment parts which offer a standard of quality that is only available through the manufacturer. In many cases, aftermarket parts are available instead of Original Equipment parts, if the customer chooses to use them. While they might be cheaper to purchase up front, lack of quality could cost you money in the long run, but the quality has improved dramatically over the years.

Warranties and Extended Warranties – Be careful that any work performed while your vehicle is under warranty doesn’t void the warranty. Irwin Automotive Group offers repairs for free if the car is still under warranty. Repairs and parts can also be backed up with a warranty depending on each circumstance. Irwin Automotive Group offers extended warranties for both new and used vehicles, which offers greater peace of mind. Manufacturer backed extended warranties make servicing your car easier because the work can be honored at dealers nationwide.

Comfort and Convenience – The dealership is also much larger, with a greater number of service bays, technicians and a larger customer lounge and waiting area. This can often translate to faster service. The experience of visiting the Irwin Automotive Group can be enjoyable because of a clean, well maintained environment, clean bathrooms, snacks, beverages, fresh coffee, popcorn, Flat-screen Television, current periodicals and more. Irwin Automotive Group will also offer a shuttle service if you plan to leave your vehicle for an extended period of time.

Price and Value – Price is a common misconception. Irwin Automotive Group is as competitive as ever on oil changes, batteries, brakes, tires and other common repairs. We have done mystery shopping and the results indicate that the Irwin Automotive Group provides a tremendous value. For example, the Irwin Automotive Group makes sure to measure tire tread depth, offer multi-point inspections and up-front pricing.

Customer Satisfaction – For a variety of reasons, the Irwin Automotive Group is as eager as ever to make sure each customer is 100% Satisfied. First, it’s good business! No dealership wants to lose a customer because of a bad service experience. Second, the Irwin Automotive Group is required by the manufacturer to maintain a standard of excellence when it comes to customer satisfaction. Customers receive surveys to measure their level of satisfaction and the Irwin Automotive Group is very aware of the survey results. This awareness translates back to the service managers, service advisors and technicians, who are all responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Did You Know?

Did you know that a dirty cabin air filter can reduce your visibility in inclement weather???

When your cabin air filter becomes blocked by dirt & debris, it can result in much less airflow coming out of your defroster & vents. This can lead to slow or incomplete defrosting/demisting of your vehicles windshield & side windows.

There is no set interval as to when to change your filter, it all depends on where you drive. However, when you service your vehicle at Irwin’s, we will inspect your cabin air filter as part of our “Multi Point Inspection” and will advise you if we feel it needs replacing.

You can also stop into our Parts Store & purchase a new filter for those who prefer to maintain their vehicle on a  Do-It Yourself basis.

2013 Toyota RAV4

Jan 21, 2013

The completely redesigned 2013 Toyota RAV4 is available for sale at Irwin Toyota. The new front end bears a strong resemblance to the 2012 Camry, with the same aggressive styling and and sleek design. The athletic posturing and sporty stance of the 2013 RAV4 make it clear that this SUV is ready to make a statement. Another huge exterior design change is that the spar tire is no longer mounted on the rear of the vehicle, but is now stored underneath. Removing the tired weight form the trunk allowed the engineers to replace the swing-gate with a more conventional lift-gate. The new design features a fuel-efficient design that uses a 2.5L, 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission to achieve up to 31 mpg in the FWD models and 29 mpg in the AWD models. Additionally, there are three available driving modes (Normal, Eco, and Sport), so you can tailor your RAV4’s performance precisely to your need.

Another added bonus of the redesign is what Toyota calls “class-leading” cargo capacity, which measures at 38.4 cubic feet behind the rear seat and 78.3 cubic feet with the rear seat folded down. The price is another area where the RAV4 shines: the MSRP for the FWD model in the LE trim starts at $23,000, and AWD is available starting at $24,700 for the LE trim level.

As always, the RAV4 will have a wide range of available options including power moonroof, navigation, leather seats, heated seats, alloy wheels, Entune multimedia, voice recognition, and much more.
