Why Service Here?

Why Should You Rely on Irwin Automotive Group for Auto Repair and Maintenance?Access to Information - Irwin Automotive Group has access to bulletins with the latest updates about fixing the vehicles, including service recalls and safety issues. If you are a dealership's customer, you might also receive information via mail or email about your vehicle. Training and Education - Dealerships invest substantial time and resources into continuing education and training. Technicians often travel to classes out of town and are frequently tested on the latest technology. Technicians are also trained to work on specific makes and models - depending on the franchises that their dealership offers. Today's vehicles are so complex, it is impossible to be up to speed on every make and model that is available in the marketplace. No one knows a Toyota like a Toyota technician, a Ford like a factory trained Ford technician, and so on. Equipment - Irwin Automotive Group has much more sophisticated diagnostic equipment. Dealers invest time in training and the right equipment - tools, hardware, software and computer equipment so the repairs are done correctly. The dealership has a distinct advantage when it comes to state of the art equipment and tools. Parts - Irwin Automotive Group uses Original Equipment parts which offer a standard of quality that is only available through the manufacturer. In many cases, aftermarket parts are available instead of Original Equipment parts, if the customer chooses to use them. While they might be cheaper to purchase up front, lack of quality could cost you money in the long run, but the quality has improved dramatically over the years. Warranties and Extended Warranties - Be careful that any work performed while your vehicle is under warranty doesn't void the warranty. Irwin Automotive Group offers repairs for free if the car is still under warranty. Repairs and parts can also be backed up with a warranty depending on each circumstance. Irwin Automotive Group offers extended warranties for both new and used vehicles, which offers greater peace of mind. Manufacturer backed extended warranties make servicing your car easier because the work can be honored at dealers nationwide. Comfort and Convenience - The dealership is also much larger, with a greater number of service bays, technicians and a larger customer lounge and waiting area. This can often translate to faster service. The experience of visiting the Irwin Automotive Group can be enjoyable because of a clean, well maintained environment, clean bathrooms, snacks, beverages, fresh coffee, popcorn, Flat-screen Television, current periodicals and more. Irwin Automotive Group will also offer a shuttle service if you plan to leave your vehicle for an extended period of time. Price and Value - Price is a common misconception. Irwin Automotive Group is as competitive as ever on oil changes, batteries, brakes, tires and other common repairs. We have done mystery shopping and the results indicate that the Irwin Automotive Group provides a tremendous value. For example, the Irwin Automotive Group makes sure to measure tire tread depth, offer multi-point inspections and up-front pricing. Customer Satisfaction - For a variety of reasons, the Irwin Automotive Group is as eager as ever to make sure each customer is 100% Satisfied. First, it's good business! No dealership wants to lose a customer because of a bad service experience. Second, the Irwin Automotive Group is required by the manufacturer to maintain a standard of excellence when it comes to customer satisfaction. Customers receive surveys to measure their level of satisfaction and the Irwin Automotive Group is very aware of the survey results. This awareness translates back to the service managers, service advisors and technicians, who are all responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Can this article protect you from buying a lemon?

If you have been looking at pre-owned cars lately, you may have noticed that some of them are designated as being “certified.” A certified pre-owned vehicle is simply one that is part of a certification program, meaning that it has met certain standards for quality. The muddy the waters somewhat, certified pre-owned (CPO) programs can be further divided into “dealer CPO” and “factory CPO” programs. While any car dealer, either franchised or independent can offer a “dealer CPO” program, only a franchised dealer can offer a factory CPO program. For example, for a used Toyota to become a Toyota certified pre-owned vehicle, it undergoes a 170-point inspection. To be up to standard, a Toyota CPO vehicle cannot be more than six model years old or have more than 75,000 miles on it. Among other items, the tire tread and brake pads must both be 50% or better, and no more than two body panels can have had prior paintwork (even by a professional bodyshop). Because the tires and brakes have a high minimum requirement, many CPO Toyotas actually have new tires and brake pads installed so that they can pass the CPO inspection, providing a higher quality used car to the customer. Every factory CPO program is a little bit different, but they all have standards published online, and come backed by the manufacturer. By contrast, the “house” certification programs that some independent dealers offer can be a bit more opaque. Factory-certified pre-owned cars do not just provide peace-of-mind and higher quality, there are other benefits to the CPO program as well, such as better warranties, and sometimes, reduced interest rates. For example, a CPO Toyota comes with the balance of a 7-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a 12-month/12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, and a full year of roadside assistance. Additionally, Toyota CPO models are eligible for special financing rates. We have embraced the factory CPO programs for Toyota, Scion, Ford, Lincoln, and Hyundai because we believe that these vehicles deliver the very best value to our customers. By starting with a superior product and being able to offer better warranties and lower interest rates, we hope to take the unknowns out of buying a pre-owned vehicle.
