Consumer Reports has named the Toyota Prius the car with the best overall value for the second year in a row. Consumer Reports noted that the Prius has the lowest estimated five-year cost of ownership of $0.47 per mile. By way of comparison, the worst-performing vehicle in the list was the Nissan Armada, which has an average cost of ownership of $1.20 and only gets 13 mpg. The report praised the Prius’ fuel economy, and remarked that because the Prius has such low depeciation costs, the cost of owning it for the first five years is lower than its original MSRP.
