LE & Hybrid LE

The LE is the base model for the new Toyota Highlander, and it comes with a few engine options, including a hybrid option. The standard engine is a 2.7-liter Inline 4 that puts out 185 horsepower. It is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and auto-manual mode. If you want more power, you can upgrade to the 3.5-liter V6 that puts out 295 horsepower. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and auto-manual mode, and it can have front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

Whether you choose one of these engine options or the hybrid, you will get seating for eight with plenty of room for everyone to enjoy a comfortable ride. The third row can recline for comfort or stow flat when you need extra cargo space. It also has a 60-40 split-bench design so you can seat someone there while folding down the other side for extra storage space.

The LE comes standard with the Entune infotainment system and a rearview camera. Some interior features include five USB ports for charging and streaming, two 12-volt DC outlets, a day-night rearview camera, remote keyless entry for all doors, a full floor console, one-touch power window, and a locking glovebox.

Safety features include an engine immobilizer, traction and stability control, brake assistance, Toyota Safety Sense forward collision mitigation, and head restraints for all three rows of passengers.

LE Plus

The 2019 Toyota Highlander LE Plus is a performance-focused trim level that only comes with the 3.5-liter V6 option. You can choose between front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, as well.

You get more than the engine upgrade on this trim level. You also get an upgraded Entune Audio Plus infotainment system, speed-sensitive volume, wireless phone connectivity, a stand-alone navigation mirroring app, and voice activated radio. Other interior features include a remote fuel release, distance pacing cruise control, remote rear window release, and dynamic radar cruise control with lane tracing assist. XLE & Hybrid XLE

The SE has bucket seats for the second row, so you'll have room for one less passenger, but the interior is luxurious and comfortable, so the passengers who do get to ride will love it. Leather upholstery is paired with chrome and metal interior accents. The seats are heated, and the steering wheel and shifting knob are wrapped in leather.

A second LCD monitor is added to the infotainment system, as is a diversity antenna, real-time weather display, and a window grid antenna. Convenience features at this trim level include a sunshade, illuminated driver and passenger mirrors, and a power glass tilting and sliding sunroof.

The suspension gets an upgrade for enhanced sports performance, and the exterior looks a bit more sophisticated with sleek black accents.

The starting price for the 2019 Toyota Highlander SE is $40,440.

Limited & Hybrid Limited

As with other models, you get all the features available with the Limited trim. This is the luxury trim level, and it shows in both features and price. With the Toyota Highlander Limited, you get extras like 19-inch alloy wheels and an entertainment system with a digital sensor processor, a JBL GreenEdge amplifier, and 12 JBL GreenEdge Speakers.
