A Message from the Owner in Response to COVID-19

Irwin Toyota is committed to the health and safety of our team, our customers, and our community. The following statement from our owner, Chris Irwin, outlines our strategy and our continuing ability to care for our customers in these changing times.

Just like you, we are closely monitoring new developments regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus). The health and safety of our customers and employees is of the utmost importance.

We are committed to making our stores safe and comfortable.

While our dealership is thoroughly cleaned each night, we’ve decided to raise our usual standards of cleanliness and health safety even higher. Maintaining the status quo has never been good enough for our dealerships.

What We Are Doing

  • We have implemented several new policies and procedures, which follow recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • We are in constant communication with our employees to reinforce our sanitization safety procedures. In addition, we are sanitizing high-traffic public areas at an increased frequency.
  • Social Distancing: No handshakes, fist bumps, elbows, or hugs. Trying to keep space between people when possible.
  • Asking employees that come into contact with customer vehicles to sanitize and wear gloves.
  • We have added additional hand sanitizers throughout the dealership for the convenience of our customers and employees, and have implemented stringent hand washing and sanitizing procedures to take place multiple times a day. You’ll find many reminders throughout our stores.
  • All dealership personnel are required to stay home from work if they develop respiratory, fever or flu-like symptoms.
  • We are recommending no employee travel and have a quarantine process if someone decides to travel.
  • If we have to quarantine an employee we have a plan to disinfect the building to ensure a quick and safe re-open. As of March 18th, we haven’t had to quarantine anyone.

Based on these proactive actions that have been implemented – effective Tuesday, March 17th – we are confident that our dealership will continue to be a safe place to conduct business and we will remain open to best serve your needs.

In fact, so far this March we continue to be very busy, especially given the circumstances. While there’s a lot of uncertainty out there we still have to sell and service vehicles. Uncertainty has caused a surplus of new inventory and we have to sell it off, creating great buying opportunities with, in some cases, no payments for up to 6 months to help address some of the uncertainty.

Thank you and be safe!

Chris Irwin
